Overview

Pledging now and donating your eyes after death is called eye donation. It is an act of charity purely for the benefit of society, irrespective of age, blood group, religion, etc. The eyes can be preserved in an eye bank up to three weeks. The cornea from the enucleated eyes is used to cure corneal blindness by a simple surgery, corneal transplantation. The prevalence of corneal blindness is 0.9% in our country.

When one person donates his eyes, more than two blind persons can get vision. By this your eyes can live forever even beyond your life.
